John Ryan

The twentieth Auditor-General of New Zealand, John Ryan started his term as Auditor-General on 2 July 2018.

An accountant and member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, John has had a long and successful career in New Zealand’s public sector. 

John has also contributed widely to his community and the arts sector in particular. Before his appointment, he was a board member of the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the New Zealand Festival, and the Wellington Jazz Festival.
