How the Auditor-General helps your school
How does the Auditor-General help you?
The Auditor-General and his staff audit all the schools in New Zealand. They do this to ensure that the funding provided to your school is being spent properly by the Board of Trustees. The Auditor-General can also investigate other functions of the school at his discretion.
What does the Auditor-General's office do for your school?
The Auditor-General and his staff are concerned with the use of public money provided to your school and how that spending is reported. You can be confident, to a reasonable level, that the spending by the Board of Trustees is in line with expectations of the public sector.
The Office of the Auditor-General can also investigate other areas of the schooling system if issues are brought to our attention.
