About the PASAI events

Our integrity webinar series creates a safe space for public servants to explore effective ways of strengthening public integrity systems in the Pacific. We invite panelists from a range of public integrity agencies in our region to share their approaches for building strong national integrity systems.

We chair regular integrity-themed webinars for public servants in the Pacific region. Although we lead these events, they form part of the advocacy and good governance programme of the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI).

If you work for a Pacific Supreme Audit Institution, Public Service Commission, Ombudsmen, anti-corruption agency, civil society organisation, or other interested public organisation and would like to attend these sessions, please get in touch with our International team: international@oag.parliament.nz.

The content of each webinar will be further discussed in PASAI’s online Leadership Community of Practice series. Participants consider how they might adopt the lessons shared by our panelists.

	How well does your organisation safeguard against fraud? To mark International Anti-corruption Day 2024, this webinar will feature the Serious Fraud Office. Representatives will discuss their work on raising awareness about fraud risks and provide practical tools to help strengthen your organisation’s fraud prevention activities.
	Strengthening integrity from the inside: Spotlight on the role of internal auditors This webinar was to build understanding of the internal audit landscape in the Pacific and how it is supported by the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand (IIA NZ). The session shone a spotlight on how internal auditing plays a pivotal role in creating and supporting a robust governance framework. It highlighted the importance of collaboration, strategic alignment, and adherence to global standards to get the most out of internal audit and to create a stronger integrity system.
	Preventing corruption and strengthening integrity This webinar built attendees' understanding of the role of each part of the public financial management ecosystem in the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER) Plus’s work to support trade agreements.
	Strengthening collaborative efforts by legislatures and Supreme Audit Institutions The legislature’s deliberations on audit findings supports better public awareness of issues, improved transparency by public organisations, and more accountability from the government to the public.
	Supporting national anti-corruption initiatives This was a discussion on the role of the integrity system in supporting national anti-corruption initiatives.
	Strengthening collaborative efforts with media Effective national integrity systems support good governance, transparency, and accountability. The media plays a critical role in this system, revealing performance failures, fraud, corruption, and promoting public accountability.
	Launching the latest accountability and transparency report We launched the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions’ 4th Accountability and Transparency report.
	Strengthening public sector integrity to combat corruption This webinar explored the role that Pacific integrity agencies play in combating corruption.
	Enabling integrity systems to thrive This webinar explored how three public sector organisations in Tonga are enabling integrity systems to thrive in their public sector.
	Building strong national integrity institutions Integrity is essential to public trust. Effective national integrity systems support good governance, transparency, and accountability. Many public sector organisations play a part in this system.
	Anti-corruption Day 2021 This webinar focused on the range of issues and risks related to fraud and corruption both in New Zealand and in our wider Pacific region, and how we can strengthen public sector integrity to combat corruption.
