New Controller and Auditor-General

The Officers of Parliament Committee recommended on 8 November 2016 to the House of Representatives the appointment of Martin Matthews as the next Controller and Auditor-General.
Martin was an Assistant Auditor-General from 1990 to 1998. Since then, he has been the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, then the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Transport from 2008 to June 2016.
Once confirmed by the House and the Governor-General, Martin’s seven-year term will start on 1 February 2017.
