Auditor-General considering requests for inquiry into ACC

23 March 2012

The Auditor-General is currently considering requests for an independent inquiry into the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).

An inquiry of this type involves a significant commitment of time and public funds. We need to make sure we understand the issues, the work being done by other agencies, and what value we could add before we make a decision.

We expect to carry out the preliminary work needed to make that assessment in the course of next week and to make a decision before Easter.
