Progress On the Inquiry into Television New Zealand Limited, New Zealand Post Limited, and Industrial Research Limited Chairperson's Expenses

The Auditor-General will complete his report before the end of the year in relation to expenses incurred by Dr Ross Armstrong during his terms as Chairperson of Television New Zealand Limited, New Zealand Post Limited, and Industrial Research Limited.

Good progress has been made on all aspects of the inquiry, which will shortly move into its final stages. Dr Armstrong has co-operated fully with the inquiry.

It was previously estimated that the report would be completed by late November.

The time-consuming inquiry has involved extensive analysis, cross-referencing, and checking of more than 1200 separate transactions for expenses such as travel and accommodation, entertainment, communications, and professional services.

The Auditor-General will report on whether the expenses examined were properly incurred, and on any other relevant matters.
