Figure title: The three parts of a typical supply system to provide a community with drinking water.
The figure shows a pipe going from a water source (in this case, a river) to a treatment plant.
A second pipe comes out of the treatment plant and separates in two.
One part of the pipe takes water to a cluster of houses, labelled "Distribution zone 1". The second part of the pipe takes water to a second cluster of houses, labelled "Distribution zone 2". Together, these distribution zones and the pipes carrying water to them form the distribution system.
